"Sunday" Drive

I'm not sure if I've mentioned that DH and I are turning 40?  Have I?  Hmmm.  Okay, so you're sick of hearing of it.  Just one more weekend...now it's his turn to say good-bye to youth.  Usually when given a choice on his birthday, he wants to stay home, sleep-in, watch a movie.  Today, he did sleep in, we all had a nice relaxing morning and went to breakfast at his favorite place for the "ultimate omelete."  After, he suggested taking a drive up to a nearby lake to scout a campground.  We had a great time discovering this area about 30 mins. from home.  I feel encouraged and inspired to find the beauty where you are, your circumstances, where you are planted.  I don't always do it, but I love when I look out our window or live as a family in our home and feel I am right where God wants me to be.  Here is a piece of the beauty I found today.
Bald Eagles winter here, sometimes seen in tall trees and feeding over the lake.  No sign at all today, just beautiful hawks.

We were the only ones in sight so no family picture.  Jae forgot her coat, so she wore mine.  Rain on it's way, but it was a beautiful grey.
The foothills were green due to the Winter rains.  We want to camp here in a couple of months when it warms a little.
I love this Old Man.  Happy Birthday!

Looks like a great place to camp! Only 30 minutes? That guy doesn't look a day over 40!!! (Oh, I guess he isn't.) Hope you were warm enough.

I have been wanting to take a Sunday Drive and go to the snow. The kids are really wanting to go again. That place looked very nice. A nice place to camp and so close to home!
