Summer's End

Tomorrow is the first day of school. I think we all have mixed emotions. With the mix comes the feeling that it couldn't last forever and the start of the new school year is good for all of us. The first part of Summer was relaxing and free - I loved it. The second part of Summer was a hustle from one event to the other; gathering, preparing, planning. I tend to not like that pace but I love what it brings.

Here's to the start of a brand new year. They will walk out the door tomorrow with excitement and butterflies with their new shoes, bright shirts, brand new backpacks, crayons and pencils and be ready for the opportunities laid before them because they have rested and prepared.

Hope the first day and the first week are going good for everyone. I wanted to make chocolate chip cookies too, but they got Chips Ahoy instead. Maybe this weekend.
