From the Mouth of Babes - on Voting Day

postscript:  John McCain is an honorable man and fought a good race.  What a gracious, generous concession speech.  With President-elect Obama our task is now greater to stop the killing of innocent lives through abortion.

Father Frank Provone of Priests for Life said this evening, "Amidst disappointment is an abiding hope in America, where everything remains possible, and where a new chapter of the pro-life movement has just begun.  America herself remains great...which is why so many of her citizens will continue, with even greater energy and determination, to defend her founding principles.  This election season made a difference.  We will build on that difference to see another day when the work and the ballots of pro-life people will dismantle the Culture of Death."

Sunday afternoon we drove into our driveway and discovered someone had taken our 'Yes on 8' sign.  We have heard warning after warning of the "no people" coming around and painting, ripping, removing, vandalizing the signs.  Someone even suggested we put vaseline on the sign so it would be harder for them to yank the sign up over the metal base.  (we didn't, btw)  Our sign had survived several weeks .  I thought it might be taken on Halloween, but it had survived.

Everyone was a bit disgusted but the girls were really mad.  While we were resting and doing things around the house, they were quietly at work on something.  Later they came in to reveal that they had made signs and hung them in their windows so no one would take them.  I was so proud they did this.

Here's a closer look.  Notice Kaye wrote "babies will thank you" and Cee wrote "keep people alive" on the McCain sign.  ...from the mouth of babes.  I don't think we have ever made it that literal to them but they know the truth that killing an unborn baby and supporting the law that allows 48 million innocent lives to die is not keeping people alive.

So, I don't think the Vandals won, instead they ignited some fighting spirits!

You go GIRLS! If only they would have thought of this a little sooner, I would have made a bumper sticker and put it on my car!! What a great campaign slogan that could have been. We need more people with the spunk children!

BTW: Our sign was stolen on Halloween.

Awesome work girls!! In my mind, I think perhaps God wants us to ignite our spirits and come out from the lukewarm. Their generation will have to don their armor, and these little warriors are on the right track!!!!
