Thursday's Child Has Far to Go

...I think that fits me well on many levels.

Lately, I've had a picture in my mind of a child on a long journey to a better place. It is not fully aware of where they are going, why it is taking so long, and often bugs his father with questions like "how much longer, this is taking forever!" The Father knows it's hard but with knowledge of the promise that lies ahead asks the child to be patient and trust his plan. Then the child let's go, let's his father handle the hard stuff and begins to enjoy the good he finds along the journey. The child inevitably will get impatient again but the gentle reminders will get him through the rough spots and before he knows it, they will arrive and he will see for himself all that his father promised.
